I spoke with technical support and learned that my original loan number was changed by dropping a zero at the beginning. I can now make payments online, but the issue with the November payment still needs resolution. This company has many negative reviews, and I regret not having a say in the sale of my mortgage.

Consider disputing the payment with your bank or canceling the check. If that’s not possible, you have third-party verification of the payment. It’s good to hear it’s not fraud, but always be cautious and understand your rights during a loan transfer.

If the check included your account number, and they changed it by dropping a zero, they should return the check or correct the error if the wrong account was credited.
First, verify your loan number. If it’s invalid, it might be due to a delay in transferring data between systems. Keep making your payments, and ensure all payment details are correct. If issues persist, escalate through customer support and, if necessary, file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
